As a new student in the College of Education and Human Development,
many exciting opportunities await you. In order to help you prepare for one
of the requirements you will have inone of your first education courses, EDHD 230,
Introduction to Educational Technology, we would like to share this information with you.
Classroom teachers in the 21st century are expected to be able
to integrate computer technology into their daily instruction of students.
The College of Education and Human Development at BGSU is expecting beginning
educations students to demonstrate basic technology competencies in word
processing, spreadsheet and presentation software that will be used throughout
their coursework.
This assessment is now a part of the course requirements for EDHD 230, Introduction
to Educational Technology. The completion of the assessment impacts the course grade as
identified in the course syllabus.
A copy of the practice exam, scoring checklist, and a list of B GSU technology
support systems to assist you in preparing for the assessment can be found
on this website. You will be taking the EDHD Assessment of Technology Competencies
early in the semester with an opportunity to retake the assessment later in
the semester if you do not pass it the first time.
It is strongly suggested that you prepare for the test by using the practice
exam and checklist to practice creating the documents before taking the test.
