Welcome to Project Excite!

Project EXCITE combines problem-based learning techniques with Environmental Health issues to promote hands-on, minds-on learning in and out of the classroom.

Explore this site to learn how an interdisciplinary, reform-based approach can transform your teaching and engage your students. EXCITE methods promote inquiry skills, such as critical thinking, decision-making, and independent investigation.

EXCITE also makes teachers, students, and parents more aware of the world around them by introducing locally relevant Environmental Health topics. Students learn civil responsibility by following through with valuable service learning projects.

Project EXCITE is a seven year professional development project funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. The grant represents a partnership between Bowling Green State University, local school districts, local scientists, and community agencies.
