The Ohio Social Studies Review (OSSR) is a peer-reviewed, international journal, the purposes of which are to:

  • Promote best practices and research in social studies in Ohio and beyond.
  • Advocate for social studies in Ohio and beyond.
  • Provide a forum for discussion among social studies teachers and educators about the implementation of best practices and research in social studies in Ohio and beyond.

The OSSR is published twice a year, once in mid-fall as hard copy and once in mid-spring online. While both issues are open to all types of submissions, the spring issue aligns with the theme of fall Ohio Council for the Social Studies Conference.
